Hand Forged Iron Scale Law Design Chandelier, Iron, Silver Leaf, Spain, 1950s.
Rare find
One of a kind ceiling pendant lamp or chandelier in wrought iron finished in silver leaf gilding with amber glass shades and a scale law or libra balance design.
This unusual chandelier has a brutalist construction with gothic style accents nicely decorated by the hammer marks thorough.
Two round hanging flush mounts with textured glass hanging from chains at both sides of a central uplighter pendant with 3 amber glass shades.
On the top a large rectangular ceiling canopy with scroll ended sides and three hooks holding the weighing pans suspended lights and the central pendant with amber glass shades.
This piece was nicely construted at the Mid-20th century period. Due to its unusual design this chandelier was a piece made to order.
Silver leaf and patinated finish.
Nice aged patina.
Interesting for any house with spanish revival inspiration.
