Spectacular Large Italian Rococo Style Porcelain Floral Chandelier
About the Item
Blanketed in a multitude of floral bouquets, this monumental porcelain chandelier was possible crafted in Italy or Germany. A marvellous example of exceptional artistry, this enchanting tole multi light double tier 9-light fixture exemplifies the Rococo style. It’s lush garden motif calls to mind an over-flowing basket of flowers, as blooms trail along the body and arms while 7 floral bouquets dangle from the branches and centre of the chandelier. Italian and German Porcelain has been coveted by royalty since this legendary manufactory began production in 1700. By the middle of the 19th century, large pieces such as this chandelier had found an audience among royals and aristocrats around the world,
circa 1950-1970s.
