1930's style Egyptian Movie Standard Lamp By Sam Rush
About the Item
This piece was originally designed and made as a whimsical one off, and was inspired by ancient Egypt as portrayed in 1920/30s movies (pictures lines of servants holding frons). However the client and subsequent comments from other led to the decision of at least showing it should someone want to commission another.
The construction is of stainless steel and brass. this means it will retain it vibrant looks almost indefinitely. The lamp is four sided and is lit on all four sides from between the two cowls. this light, which is softened through colour gel, is indirect, reflecting off the upper cowl. (Access to the bulbs is shown in one of the photos, where the lower cowl is slid down) A further single light source is located in the middle of the upper cowl in order to created reflected light from ceilings etc.
Sam Rush is an independent artist/artisan and purposely does not employ assistance or outsource work. The choice to keep all work in house and controlled production means that pieces are to all intents and purposes, limited edition.
All pieces are UKCA certified, CE compliant and compatible LU regulations.
