About the Item
A large, and very attractive 1970s handmade standard lamp with a natural pencil reed bamboo style column and flared base, culminating with a wide pagoda rattan shade. The piece is in good vintage condition with a nice honey-coloured patina. The lamp has one crown silver bulb which diverts the light downwards highlighting the shade and bamboo stand, giving off a lovely warm glow. Professionally rewired with 3-core braided antique brown cord.
Rattan and faux bamboo standard lamps were very much in vogue in the 1970s - popularised by designers such as Mario Lopez Torres and Gabriella Crespi - and are highly sought after today adding bohemian elegance to any room style.
