Art Nouveau Period Wrought Iron Floor Lamp
About the Item
Art Nouveau period wrought Iron Floor Lamp is a masterwork of the blacksmith's art! Cleverly designed with a boldly scrolled tripod base, it features artfully sculpted buttresses that reconnect at the middle of the central shaft to make a sturdy and attractive presentation. Originally designed to hold an oil lantern, there is a height adjustment screw at the middle which used to allow one to raise and lower the lamp. That adjustment screw is now rendered obsolete by the electrification. This beautifully tailored floor lamp also includes a beautiful hand-sewn silk shade,
circa 1895.
