About the Item
Bergboms—also known as Bergbom & Co AB—was a Swedish modernist lighting manufacturer founded in 1940. Its founder, Efraim Ljung, was a prominent businessman who also established Ljungs Industrier, the company that would later evolve into the renowned DUX furniture brand. DUX became known for collaborations with influential designers such as Alf Svensson and Edward Wormley.
The company was active during the postwar era, producing a wide range of sleek, modernist lighting for the Swedish market. Its offerings were stylistically aligned with those of contemporaries like ASEA. Bergboms created table, desk, wall, and floor lamps, as well as pendants and chandeliers, using materials such as brass, steel, ceramic, and glass.
