About the Item

This floor lamp features a clean, functional design with an oak wood structure in a saddle-brown finish. The tall lamp is topped with a beige fabric shade that diffuses light softly, creating a warm glow. Oak's natural grain adds a subtle texture to the lamp, giving it an understated yet refined appearance. Design The carvings along the stem reflect a brutalist style, with angular, geometric shapes forming a bold, repetitive pattern. These cuts in the wood create a striking visual contrast against the smoother parts of the structure, enhancing the lamp’s sculptural appeal without overpowering its simplicity. Midway up the stem, a round oak shelf offers a useful surface for placing small items. It blends seamlessly with the rest of the lamp, adding a functional element while keeping the overall design cohesive. The combination of oak wood, the geometric carved stem, and the beige shade results in a balanced and practical piece suitable for various interior styles. Condition The overall condition is good and has signs of wear and usage. This means that the woods shows little marks and scuffs and some stains on the lampshade. The lamp has an E27 fitting. This lamp comes with a great opportunity to re-upholster the lampshade.

'Tamburo' Floorlamp Medium-Sized by Tobia Scarpa for Flos, Italy 1970s
By Flos, Tobia Scarpa
Located in Hellouw, NL
Tobia Scarpa is a near-legendary figure in the world of design. Renowned for a wide range of creations—many developed in collaboration with his wife, Afra—his work occupies a prominent place in the history of Italian design. It comes as no surprise that Italian lighting manufacturer Flos has frequently enlisted Scarpa’s visionary talent throughout his career. Design One striking example of his avant-garde style is the Tamburo lamp. True to its name—tamburo meaning "drum" in Italian—the lamp features a bold, round, abstract form set at a 60-degree angle on a distinctive stem. Green rings are attached to both sides of the green frame using Allen bolts, creating a design that feels both futuristic and evocative of the Memphis movement—bold, unconventional, and defiant of norms. A matte plastic diffuser is fixed at the front by the dark green ring...

Large Tamburo Floorlamp by Tobia Scarpa for Flos, Italy 1970s
By Flos, Tobia Scarpa
Located in Hellouw, NL
Tobia Scarpa is a near-mythical figure in the world of design. Celebrated for a wide-ranging body of work—much of it created alongside his wife, Afra—Scarpa’s contributions occupy a central place in the history of Italian modernism. It’s no surprise that Flos, a pioneering force in Italian lighting, has collaborated with Scarpa multiple times throughout his illustrious career. Design One of the most commanding examples of his bold, forward-thinking aesthetic is the Tamburo lamp, shown here in its rarest and largest version—an impressive 250 cm in height. As its name suggests (tamburo meaning “drum” in Italian), the design centers around a striking circular form, mounted at a precise 60-degree angle atop a sharply geometric stem.On both sides of the wide green housing, dark green rings...
