About the Item
Early 19th century carved bedpost made into a floor lamp, English. A bedpost which was converted to a torchiere later in the 19th century and to a floor lamp in the 20th century. Mahogany. Elegant rice & acanthus carving balanced against bold reeding to the George III period bedpost. Tripod base of carved, scrolled legs ending in slipper feet. Old restored break to one leg.
