About the Item

The lamp consists of two spherical Murano blown glasses and connected in the middle by a chrome-plated cylinder, which they fixed with a turning system. The two parts can be lit separately by switching to one of the three light modes. Very nice contrast with the white and orange colored tones. The lamp is in excellent condition. All our lamps have been checked, cleaned and are suitable for use in the USA. Carlo Nason: Born in Murano in 1935, he grew up in one of the oldest families of Murano glassmakers where experts introduced him to the most refined techniques. In the 1960s he worked for the family glass factory Nason & C. He soon started collaborating with other glass workshops, paying special attention to modern design and achieving a combination of technique and craftsmanship that characterizes all his projects. Carlo has always shown an attitude for innovation without losing its tradition. From 1965 to 1980, he designed the complete collection of AV Mazzega, which today is an icon of vintage: creating the highest quality at the level of his design. Carlo Nason has designed for De Majo, Leucos, Alt Lucialternative, Gallery Vetri D`Arte, Murano Due, Vetreria Vistosi, Vetreria Carlo Moretti, Vetreria Livio Seguso, Gruppo Firme di Vetro di Salzano and several other companies. Not only did he design glass objects, he designed ceramics for Baldelli, ski boots for Garmont; consultant for Casinos Austria International in Vienna and worked on graphics for several companies. iTRE In 1975 he founded his own company iTRE. Since 2002, the company has been owned by FDV Group S.p.A., better known as LEUCOS. Many well-known designers worked for the company iTRE. Not only is he a designer, he is also passionate about photography, winning numerous competitions in the 60s and 70s. Carlo's work can be found in various museums. The Museum of Modern Art MoMA in New York, USA, the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, Italy. The Corning Museum of Glass in New York has a large collection of his works Close description * The cable was replaced Italian designer Carlo Nason was born into a family of expert glassmakers in 1935 in Murano, Venice. His father, Vincenzo Nason, directed the renowned glass business NasonMoretti and opened a second glass business under the name Vincenzo Nason & C in 1941. From an early age, the younger Nason received training in the art of glassblowing, learning about both the properties of the material and the artisanal techniques used in glass molding and decoration. The very first objects designed by Nason date to 1959 and include in a collection of mold-blown vases produced by V Nason & C. Today, they are held by the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York. Driven by his passion for design—especially clean, geometric forms—Nason decided in the 1960s to distance himself from his family's business, which was specialized mainly in very traditional, ornate decorative objects. Nason redirected his focus toward designing glass lighting in a modernist idiom. Nason's had intended to produce his early solo designs himself in small batches, but soon his spirit of experimentation and innovation caught the attention of Murano glass lighting manufacturer A. V. Mazzega, and the company invited Nason to collaborate on new collections. The partnership lasted from 1965 until the 1980s and resulted in an array of iconic lighting designs that remain in demand today. Parallel to the collaboration with A. V. Mazzega, Nason also produced designs for other important Murano glass companies, such as De Majo, i-tre, Murano Due,Vistosi, , and Firme di Vetro. Nason continued to create designs in the 1980s and 1990s, but he also took on work as a consultant for Casinos Austria and worked as a photographer. Nason's works have been exhibited over the decades in a number of art and design museums and galleries in Paris, Milan, and New York. He lives and works in Murano.
