About the Item
The Crash series is a range of sculptural lighting forms produced from salvaged car panels from automotive wreckers.
The ‘Albus’ (Latin for white) floor lamp is finished in an ultra-matte white, giving it an almost porcelain-like appearance. Each piece is distorted by hand, and a silhouette is cut from the rippled sheet. The forming process is dictated by how the sheet naturally distorts, resulting in a unique identity for each lamp. The Crash series aims to express a sense of optimistic renewal, taking something wasted and discarded and turning it into a delicate and unique lighting sculpture.
