The Cypress Collection by Studio Kloak is a striking exploration of memory, material, and modern craft. Designed with adaptability in mind, the collection is available for custom orders in maple, ash, or responsibly sourced recycled lumber—yet it is the edition crafted from Pecky Cypress that truly embodies its spirit. This particular wood was rescued from the roof beams of a 300-year-old abandoned building, carrying with it centuries of history embedded within its grain. The Cypress is instantly recognizable by its organic dark pockets, a rare phenomenon created when fungi naturally sculpt the wood, leaving behind patterns that are both unpredictable and profoundly beautiful. Each surface becomes not just material, but a living archive of time and transformation, celebrating nature’s ability to shape and refine.
What distinguishes the Cypress Collection is not only its reverence for history but also its commitment to innovation in form and function. At the heart of the design is a removable bespoke glass LED light source that marries sculptural presence with practical ingenuity. With a 360-degree beam angle, the light radiates evenly in all directions, creating an atmosphere that is at once warm and commanding. The light source is housed within a glass tube featuring a delicately scalloped interior, an artisanal detail that refracts illumination with subtle elegance.
