This sculptural floor lamp is handcrafted from an original bricola — the centuries-old oak posts that mark the waterways of the Venice Lagoon. Designed and created by Treviso-based artist Davide Moretto, the piece celebrates the transformation of reclaimed material into luminous contemporary design.
The lamp integrates a warm LED light running vertically along its entire height, emphasizing the natural cracks, textures, and patina of the aged Venetian oak. The upper section retains its original golden finish, a distinctive trace of its past life — likely once serving as a mooring post for a luxurious Venetian hotel or palace. The base is made of solid steel, grounding the organic form with a refined industrial contrast.
Produced in a limited edition of 10 numbered pieces, each lamp is unique in its grain, texture, and tone — a result of the natural variations of the Venetian oak and its exposure to water, salt, and time.
Moretto’s work embodies the dialogue between craftsmanship, memory, and light. His artistic approach resonates with the material experimentation of Gaetano Pesce and the spiritual craftsmanship of Giuseppe Rivadossi, while paying homage to Carlo Scarpa’s poetic connection to the Venetian landscape.

Davide Moretto is an artist-designer whose work sits at the intersection of art, design, and craftsmanship.
