Falkenbergs Belysning Floor Lamp in Oak and Brass, Sweden, 1960s
About the Item
This elegant floor lamp was produced by Falkenbergs Belysning in Sweden in the 1960s. The lamp is marked with the manufacturer’s initials, FLB, on the underside of the base.
The design features a circular brass foot and a central column shaped like a bamboo stem, composed of carved elements in stained oak. A tubular brass stem on the top part leads to the lamp fitting. The slightly tapered, drum shade has been renewed in an ivory, linen textured fabric. The lamp can be switched on with the pull switch (can be shortened if desired).
The lamp is in very good condition, the brass and wood with a natural and even patina. Renewed shade. Currently with 220V European wiring and plug, standard E26/E27 bulb fitting.
Other Scandinavian Modern designers working in the same era include Paavo Tynell, Hans Bergström, Hans-Agne Jakobsson and Carl Malmsten.
