Finding an antique and all hand-carved floor lamp of a Renaissance Revival guard holding a lantern is truly special, but for him to be 'under the influence' makes this piece extra special. Clearly off-balance and with his eyes shut from too much of his favourite beverage all that can save him at this point is his friend, the lamppost. With the tip of his halberd and both lanterns being hand-forged of copper, it is highly likely that more than one artisan created this rare antique. The uniqueness of the design and the quality of the make, but also its perfect patina make this sculptural floor lamp an absolute joy to own and look at. Both with the lights switched on and off, this one of a kind, tipsy watchman floor lamp will light up both your days and evenings.
