About the Item
Extrememly rare floor lamp design by Hans Agne Jakobsson and produced in Markaryd in the 70's. This floor lamp is the Tropicana model, G222, only produced at a low amount. The lamp is made in full brass. It has a shade that goes up and down to be able to direct the light where you wish. Hans Agne Jakobsson is one of the leadinf swedish designer along side Axel Einar Hjorth or Josef Franck. Moreover his work can be also related to Paavo Tynell in finland or to Alvar Aalto. This piece is one of the few extreme modern shape lamp that he designed in all his collection. The lamp is in good overall condition and is labeled by the Artist.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.
