IC-13
Josha was always fascinated by the fact that we cannot see light itself. We can only see the reflection of light on objects around us. This made Josha think about ways to visualize light itself.
In this piece he puts the lamp itself on the lightbulb to make the light tangible. The lampshade is walking on its own light, like in the phrase: Walking on sunshine.
By putting the lampshade on the light-source it becomes a very fragile pieces, it looses all of its practicality. But it gains almost touchable tension, it becomes a more conceptual piece instead of a design piece. Even when turned off (the cable is removable) it keeps this tension. Without power it is becoming more of a sculpture then a lamp.
