Jacques Ibarra XL Ceramic ‘Oiseau’ Lamp, France, 1960s

About the Item

Extraordinary large lamp by ceramist / sculptor Jacques Ibarra, France 1960s. The lamp shows a mother bird and small baby birds. Jacques Ibarra was born in Paris in 1929. He works with different media, from ceramics, engraving to serigraphy. Ibarra settled himself with his wife in the village of Mirmande in the Drôme, the south of France. After 5 years of restoration he established his atelier in 1961. He started to produce bowls, plates, pitchers. In the 70s he started to do animalistic figures; animals like cats, lions, birds and sheep made in earthenware or stoneware. The lamp is provided with a new custom-made linen shade, both inside and outside are covered with linen fabric (our special request). The lamp is signed at the bottom; 'Ibarra'.
