Kazuhide Takahama Sirio T Floor Lamp for Sirrah, Italy, 1977

$2,408.41

About

Kazuhide Takahama was born in Japan in 1930 and after completing his studies in Architecture in Tokyo he started working in Kazuo Fuioka’s studio. In 1957, he went to Italy to visit the Triennale in Milan where he met Dino Gavina. He developed his own well-defined stylistic lexis in a climate of profuse cultural exchanges. The furniture and lighting he designs often features clean lines and a formal restraint. This floor lamp designed for Sirrah is a very good example of Takahama’s minimal Futurist aesthetic. The Sirio T floor lamp uses a halogen bulb encased within a simple metal hood, adjustable for different moods, with dimmer switch. This stem also acts as the feet for the lamp splaying out in three directions. Made from a matte lacquered metal profile in a very nice deep burgundy. The lamp is in good condition with one repair to the hood. This lamp has been re-wired and PAT tested for UK use. Rewiring for other countries on request.
