Large-scale Sculptural Ceramic Tripod Floor Lamp
About the Item
Entitled 'Tulip Lamp III' by Simone Bodmer-Turner, this monumentally-scaled freestanding floor lamp commands a presence with an otherworldly effect. Hand-built by the artist in 2023, it is a stunning example of functional sculpture that would make a grand statement in any room.
Standing on a wide tripod base, the lamp upwardly projects a warm, ambient glow from its "tulip" formed top, and is wired with a black flexible US cord with built-in on/off switch that plugs into a wall socket.
This work was exhibited in June of 2023 at Frieze's permanent exhibition space, No. 9 Cork Street in London, and in December of 2023 at Design Miami.
Artist Information:
Simone Bodmer-Turner is one of today's most sought-after makers of contemporary sculpture. Bodmer-Turner works across ceramic, plaster, and found materials, crafting both freestanding design objects such as vases, sculpture, an array of lighting and furniture pieces, as well as large-scale, site-specific installations. The gentle, playful shapes of her work are rooted in the organic architecture of the Mediterranean in the mid-20th century. Her pieces explore harmonization with the physical world, expressing her fascination with nature in all of its unpredictable forms and manifestations. Her work is held in a number of important private collections and has been included in numerous exhibitions worldwide.
