Mid-Century Swiss Space Age Mushroom Floor Lamp from Temde, 1960s

About the Item

Imposing glass standing lamp in mushroom form from the renowned manufacturer Temde. Functional light source and at the same time light object in the room. The extremely large diffuser hood made of glass is particularly striking on this design. The clear structural glass scatters and potentiates the light. 4 versions are arranged radially around the foot. At the top there is a large metal funnel in the middle of which there is a version for the ceiling flooder. The foot is carried out in a tulip. The lamp has a double foot switch to switch flooders and the other burning points separately. European Plug (up to 250V). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise. Absolutely stunning and very rare biomorphic floor lamp by Temde Leuchten, Switzerland / Germany 1960s. The lamp base is in excellent vintage condition and the lamp is in great working order as can be seen in the pics. The lamp is fitted for two general E27 lightbulbs that can be switched on and off individually or both at the same time by the pull switch cord. The lamp will come with its original lampshade bracket so easily to reupholster again but please be aware that the fabric shown in the pics was too far gone so this will not come with the lamp. Personally we believe the lamp could also benefit form a slightly sleeker and possibly shorter lamp shade to accentuate the wonderful curvy lamp...
