Italian Elegance!
This is perhaps the quintessential mid century pole lamp with glass shades! Not content with just any glass, this pole lamp features stunning opalescent glass with hand painted golden leaves in a marvelous thick impasto! Exquisite style!
This pole lamp is in great condition and the glass is so clean and iridescent, it seems like it just emerged from a factory in Murano! Shades hold position very well and we have imaged this fabulous lamp with the shades illustrating their articulation. The lamp exhibits light age wear. Presents beautifully!
These lamps have proven to be timeless and are sought after for interiors with every style of decor! Their ability to be placed in a corner or behind a chair and create a warm ambiance to an interior is legendary!
This is a very rare lamp as well. Hand painted Italian opalescent glass was not commonplace in tension pole lamps during the 1950s. This pole lamp would have been a limited offering found in a high end fifties-era department store such as Lord & Taylor Gimbels, Macys or a store that specialized in lighting.
