Neo-pop light sculpture or Floor Lamp Egg, French artist Michel Froment c.1990's

About the Item

Huge floor lamp or light sculpture by the French artist Michel Froment ( 1951 ) Reproducing a fried egg on both sides. The material used is metal and polyurethane. The artist's work is in good condition, some traces of the passage of time. The sculpture is signed twice. Height: 78.74" / 200 cm Diameter of the egg: 39.37" / 100 cm "Atypical... This is what should be said if we want to talk about Michel Froment's creations. Atypical and yet this work is part of a production between raw art and academic art. Froment is self-taught, as such he warns us that his free thoughts have taken shape and that he thus entertains us with clever mobiles and stable stills. Michel Froment cultivates exuberance and the wacky, he plays with kitsch that he introduces into his work to arouse controversy. Far from conceptual art, too immaterial or minimalist for him, his work is closely linked to furniture, it is generally classified in "neo-pop". It is as a true alchemist that he experiments with the transformation and marriage of metal and resin. In his workshop in Drôme Provençale, he works tirelessly on new experiments. The resin is kneaded, heated, stretched, colored until it comes to life through his animated characters, his furniture with graceful lines.
