Oscar Torlasco for Lumi, floor lamp model '721', chrome, aluminum, Italy, 1950s
Lumi was one of the most innovative lighting design companies in Italy during the midcentury period. This floor lamp is characterized by its clear and simple aesthetic with a functional feature. The voluminous shade is secured to the considerably long stem that rises from the flat base. The shade can be adjusted in its angle as well the height, allowing the user to direct the light in any preferred direction. An elegant and pragmatic piece of furniture that will enlighten your interior in a fine manner.
Please note that this item is in good, used condition. The lacquer at the inside of the shade shows cracks, and could be resprayed. Restoration can be done before shipping by our experienced craftsmen and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece contains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized restoration is possible as well.

Oscar Torlasco
Oscar Torlasco was born in Rome, Italy, in 1934. Torlasco designed many beautiful lamps. The most well known are the lamps he designed for Lumi. He designed for several Italian lighting manufacturers, including Esperia, Stilux, Lamperti and Stilkronen. Most of his designs are from the 1950s and 60s
