Rare Gunnel Nyman Floor Lamp Model No. 62043 by Idman, 1940

About the Item

A rare and beautiful floor lamp in brass (rattan on the stem) and rattan shade, designed by Gunnel Nyman and manufactured by Idman. This was often mistaken for a Tynell due to very little documentation, but as the Design Museum recently aquired and published G. Nyman archives, it was established that this and a few more models from Idman catalogues were designed by Nyman and produced only by Idman. The lamp is in good condition and has beautiful vintage patina. The brass parts were polished at some point and the rattan shade renewed. Condition:

Reupholstered. Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. The lamp was polished because it was wearing a too heavy patina. The shade was also renewed for the original was in terrible condition. The overall impression is good.
