About the Item
Expressive and indeed unusual set of two French Art Deco table lamps with a hint of an Empire style from the 1930s approx..
This particular style of torch lights was introduced at the Paris Exhibition in 1855.
The lamps come in a red or pink marble, most likely from Italy.
Details are in a dark red marble and the feet are from cast brass, and brass is the entire metalware of the lamps, including the light fittings.
The flame torches are from frosted clear glass and measure ø 130 mm (5.11'') x 200 mm (7.8'') approx. each.
The lamps must have been re-wired in the 1970s. They both come with golden fabric lined cords and a switch, which look slightly different to each other.
Bayonet fittings, can be purchased online easily.
