About the Item
This small adjustable reading lamp, designed and manufactured by Stilux in Italy during the 1960s, is a superb example of mid-century modern design. The lamp features a round Carrara marble base, which not only provides weight and stability but also adds an elegant contrast to the other materials. The marble's classic beauty is complemented by the sleek, black-painted metal stem, which includes a brass section for easy handling and adjustment. The lamp's headlight-shaped shade, painted in a vibrant yellow, adds a playful yet sophisticated touch. It is equipped with a plexiglass diffuser at the front, allowing for a softened, even distribution of light. One of the most notable features of this reading lamp is the ingenious joint at the top of the stem. This lamp is checked in our own atelier, cleaned and is also suitable for use in the USA. For US usage we could change the plug, or you can get a converter if needed for a floor or table lamp with transformer in it.

The company was known for its high-quality and innovative lighting designs, which were produced during the mid-20th century. Stilux Milano's designs were characterized by their clean lines and modernist forms, as well as their use of innovative materials such as plexiglass and metal. The company was particularly known for its designs of table lamps and floor lamps, which often incorporated adjustable features and innovative lighting technologies. And as a competitor of the bigger brands as Stilnovo, Arteluce and Arredoluce, it had its own particular designs, in similar quality as the others.
