Turned Wood Tall Pricket Stick
About the Item
This is a great turned wood, probably walnut, tall pricket stick that dates to the early 18th century. The stick was most probably created in Italy, although similar pricket sticks were created throughout Europe during this time period. The pricket has had several restorations, principally the large candle drip plate. These wood turned sticks would often suffer damage due to the fragility of wood and the delicate form. This would be a great decorative/sculptural element for a Mediterranean, Spanish or Spanish Colonial home. the Pricket could be easily fitted for use as a floor lamp.

- Condition:Repaired: Over the years the pricket has been restored; the principal restoration is to the large candle drip plate. Wear consistent with age and use. The pricket is in overall good condition. Restoration are anticipated and normal considering the design of the pricket.
