1940s Paavo Tynell Model #2024 glass & metal flush mount for Taito Oy. This rare and exceptional flush mount is executed in white opaline glass and metal. Manufactured by Taito in the late 1940s, this is a fine unsigned example of a Tynell's iconic refinement.
Price is per item. Two lamps available.
Literature: Taito Oy manufacturer's catalogue, unpaginated.
Rewired for US electrical. Accommodates 1 x 75w equivalent medium base bulb (lower with incandescent). Some patination, scuffs and dings as largely shown in the photos and noted only for accuracy. Glass is clean and free of cracks. Not UL listed, but recommended UL listing possible from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request. Please note only one representative lamp shown in the listings. Some variation between lamps, but both overall in comparably good condition as noted. Additional images available upon request.

Paavo Tynell
Paavo Tynell, who was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1890, started his career as a tin- and blacksmith at the company Kory Oy. Simultaneously, he studied at the Helsinki University of Industrial Arts, from which he graduated as a master craftsman in 1913. In 1918, Tynell co-founded the metalwork and lighting company Oy Taito Ab. At first, the company focused mostly on interior and exterior metalwork, such as statues and railings. Later, during the 1930s, Taito also began producing lamps for the lighting sector. Both Alvar Aalto and Kaj Franck would design works for the company.
