Biomorphic Flush Mount Light Fixture by Studio Chora, Handmade, Made-To-Order
About the Item
Flush Mounted Light Fixture from the Biomorphic Series by Studio Chora. Inspired by the nature of human experience. Made-to-order. Pricing shown is for a three-headed fixture, please reach out to seller for additional invoice if interested in purchasing four-headed version. Each head is priced at $295 and includes one (1) plaster ceiling canopy with openings for three or four heads. This is a second-generation light sculpture that is hand crafted from a composite plaster-based stone. The stone composite is more durable than previous iterations and has a smooth, lightly water resistant finish. The high-quality compressed stone finish is burnished to a smooth, cold-to-the touch, and tactile matte surface. Recommended for indoor use only.

Description: Organic shape, handmade ceiling mounted light fixture or chandelier. Matte with a slight sheen, white stone finish. Candelabra ceramic socket size, globe LED bulb (non-dimmable) in soft white (included).
Care instructions: Studio Chora's stone composite products are compressed and burnished to a natural white finish. The finish may be cleaned with a wet rag or mild cleaning product. A beeswax will maintain the tactile surface texture and bring out the natural color variation in the plaster. Please note, hairline micro fissures may appear and are not damage. They are superficial resulting from temperature change during the setting phases. The water resistant finish will not be affected and, if not embraced as part of the wabi-sabi aesthetic and philosophy, a light coat of beeswax will fill the micro fissure.

Studio Chora
Studio Chora is a woman-owned design studio located in the desert of New Mexico. Producing hand-sculpted and one-of-a-kind designs from renewable and recycled materials, the product lines are sold in sustainably-focused shops and galleries throughout California, in Brooklyn, New York, and from our studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. About the designer: E. Silva, M. Arch., of Studio Chora is a designer based in New Mexico. Trained as an architect, she has early career projects in Manhattan, including exterior lighting design for One Wall Street. Her designs for Studio Chora focus on post-Deleuzian philosophy as a critical tool for articulating gender. She handcrafts one-of-a-kind sculptures, drawings, technical and artistic visuals, pneumatic dinner parties, and augmented reality experiences.
