About the Item
A mid-century flush mount ceiling light by Idman, Finland, from the 1950s. The lamp features a circular brass frame with a finely woven synthetic textile diffuser that softens the light evenly across the surface. The clean geometry and restrained materials capture the functional elegance of postwar Finnish lighting design.
Produced during a period when Idman was one of Finland’s leading lighting manufacturers, this piece reflects the company’s modernist approach under the influence of designers such as Paavo Tynell and Lisa Johansson-Pape.
