Large Sunburst Ceiling Light Fixture in Wrought Iron, Fleur de Lys Motifs, 1940s
About the Item
Black Patinated Sunburst Ceiling Light, Wrought iron, France, 1950s.
This monumental ceiling flush mount is entirely made in hand-forged iron. Original finish in black color with terrific rusty aged patina.
The central sphere is surrounded by alternating fleur de lis rays and curved rays. It has a decorative flower detail at the central part of the panel.
This piece is heavily adorned by the hammer mark thorough.
It has a design inspired by Gilbert Poillerat metal works.
Beautiful to be placed as ceiling light fixture and as a wall sconce or wall decoration. It could be used also as a pendant hanging from a chain at the desired height.
Manufactured at the Art Deco Period in transition to brutalist design with gothic accents.
Newly wired.
