Circular Art Deco Modernist Ceiling Lamp in Nickelled Bronze and Glass signed Petitot dating from the 1930's and in perfect condition. The mount for this ceiling lamp is in nickel-plated bronze. The mount holds a frosted and sandblasted glass bottom and columns of glass rods. Signed and documented under the references Model n°16-144. A copy of the documentation is in the last photo. This is the large model, dimensions are: Diameter 60 cm Height 18 cm A smaller model is also available on request. About Henri Petitot Henri Petitot was quickly recognized as an important designer and manufacturer of the Art Deco period. From the beginning of his career, he manufactured elegant bronze frames for the chandeliers, sconces, and lamp for his peers. The Muller Brothers in Lunéville or the Schneider firm, among others, used this talented craftsman to equip their art glass works with high-quality frames and many of the chandelier frames of these glassmakers bear the A.P. signature for Atelier Petitot. Later he designed his own glass works in collaboration with the Muller Brothers who supplied them to him. These chandeliers and sconces were mostly cubist in inspiration, sober and with geometric decorations that contrasted sharply with the floral decorations of other glass makers. Little by little, he made resolutely modernist chandeliers and sconces which definitively established his notoriety which continues today throughout the world. The chandeliers, which could take different shapes (oval, rectangular, octagonal), were made of bronze, sandblasted glass and glass rods and the bodies were elegant, modernist, and powerful. The sandblasted glass plate often had a clear edge which produced a warm light. The assembly of the chandeliers is often very ingenious, it combines the strength of bronze and the delicacy of the glass rods, judiciously placed on the various parts of the structure.
