About the Item
Elegant ceiling light from Danish manufacturer Nordisk Solar, designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson.
The light consists of flat shells that act as reflectors and an intricately designed shaft with a base. The large shell covers the light source and reflects the light onto the ceiling. The shaft is divided into three small bars arranged in the shape of an equilateral triangle. The base takes on the triangular shape and is finished in black. The mounting plate is round and finishes with a shadow gap to the ceiling. The contrast in color and shape between the base and the lampshade is striking.
The lamp is in very good condition with signs of wear and patina. One pin on the base cover is missing, but this has no effect.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.
