Staff XL Large Organic Textured Clear Ice Crystal Glass Flush Mount, 1970s
About the Item
A beautiful and extra large 50cm (nearly 20 inch) vintage mid-century modern flush mount light fixture by German lighting manufacturer Staff Leuchten, circa 1970s. Featuring a wonderful mouth blown, molded and textured clear glass shade resembling ice crystals - similar to fixtures designed by Helena Tynell for Glashütte Limburg around the same period - this midcentury vintage lamp illuminates beautifully, casting a golden light over a ceiling or wall and has a silver painted finish to the back of the glass element to help shine and reflect the light back down. We have seen this design attributed to Motoko Ishii - however, we have yet to see that in any old Staff Leuchten catalogues. This fixture did iF design award in 1967 - a great vintage piece and very rare to find in this, the largest, size.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. Good condition - there is some scratching to the reflective silver coating on the underside of the light but it is minor and not noticeable when the light is in use.
