This impressive brass ceiling lamp, labeled and named "The Rochester," is a beautifully preserved and converted piece of lighting history. Originally designed as a gas lamp by the Rochester Lamp Company, one of the premier American lighting manufacturers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this fixture has been thoughtfully electrified for modern use while retaining all its antique character. The lamp features a richly detailed cast brass body with ornate embossing and a vented base, a hallmark of the original oil and gas-burning models. A wide, hand-hammered brass shade adds visual drama and reflects a warm, golden light. Suspended from a brass canopy with graceful, arched support arms, the lamp's overall silhouette blends industrial ingenuity with classic elegance. The glass chimney is new, offering a crisp, clean complement to the aged brass patina.
