18th Century Cage Wall Lamp with 2 Lights in Nickel Bronze and Crystal
About the Item
This wall lamp is a variation of the fashion of the half-lights of the XVIIIth century. Between the chandelier and the arm of light, these atypical lights were very appreciated by Marie Antoinette who ordered them in 1786 for her boudoir in the Fontainebleau castle.
This model takes the shape of a violin from the chandelier of the Pope's apartments in the Château de Fontainebleau.
Its originality also lies in the play of transparency offered by its ornaments, rock crystal pendants in the form of a drop supported by small bronze arms, and two daggers that form a pyramid with the two arms of light.
These arms, which rise from the lower floor, are composed of a crystal cup and a chiseled wick.
It should also be noted that the two dagger-shaped crystal pendants can be found in the series of thirteen candelabras dating from 1862 in the Louvre Museum.

Safeguarding our artistic heritage is one of the missions established by the company founders, driven by their belief in quality craftsmanship. Working in close collaboration with architects and decorators, we adapt our creations to their intended location to best meet your expectations and elevate the space. The company's activities can be divided into three key areas: the creation, reproduction and restoration of chandeliers and light fittings. Our creations are inspired by the bronzeworking traditions and crystal chandelier makers of the early 18th century and 19th century.
We are able to adapt these classic models to suit modern tastes, basing our designs on archival materials and taking inspiration from photographs of old models. We also create contemporary models, combining craftsmanship and luxurious materials with modern lines and designs.
