1970s Brutalist Sconce or Ceiling Lamp, Metal Twirl & Ruby Red Glass, Germany

About the Item

Fabulous impressive, as much as expressive brutalist sconce or ceiling lamp, custom made in the 1970s for the Philips exhibition in Hannover at the time, Germany. The silvery cast metal base with charcoal patina, comes in a twirl reminding of a ships propeller. One-of-a-kind, this piece of art is fitted with 6 chunks of ruby-red art glass, casting a magnificent warm light. The base is as a matter of fact actually absolutely round/circular: the view from close makes it apprear as if two ''wings'' are standing out to the sides as a 3D effect which is beautiful. Wiring is working worldwide from 110-240v. Also in the US.
