About the Item
Beautiful pair of wall lamps from the 1970s, in chrome-plated metal and spherical Murano glass shades with Pulegoso work.
This particular type of glass, called 'Pulegoso' in Murano glassworks, is characterised by innumerable tiny, irregular air bubbles
(in Venetian = 'pulighe' ) that form inside the glass mass, deliberately limiting its transparency. This is achieved, with a technique that was widely used in the 1920s, by adding substances such as petrol, for example, in order to produce a boiling on the molten glass.
The elegantly designed frames are made of high-quality chrome metal and mount practical pull switches to turn directly the lamps on.
