Total height: 35 cm Depth: 12.5 cm Width: 20.5 cm Weight: 8 kg Francis Hubens was a lighting manufacturer based in Paris and worked with the greatest glassmakers of the Art Deco period. Francis Hubens primarily used glass made by Degué, but also used some models by Muller for the bronze mounts. DEGUÉ (David GUERON) In 1926, David GUERON (1892-1950) took over a former glassworks and crystal factory in Compiègne (Oise), specializing in perfume bottles, under the name "SA Cristalleries de Compiègne." That same year, he founded the "Verrerie d'Art Degué" at 63 Boulevard Malherbes in Paris (factory) and acquired premises at 41 Rue de Paradis in the 10th arrondissement (showroom) to showcase his production of brightly colored, high-quality vases and lighting fixtures. The latter was later moved to 52 Rue de Londres in Paris. He was inspired by the Art Deco style of Charles Schneider's decor, which led to him being sued for counterfeiting, which Schneider successfully sued in 1932. Edouard Cazeaux was David Guéron's artistic director. The crystal factory also produced glasses and industrial tumblers between 1934 and 1935. It fulfilled an order for 6,000 pieces for the ocean liner "Le Normandie," intended for wall and lighting decorations made of chisel-cut glass slabs. It was the Second World War that brought the Degué Art Glassworks to an end, with David Guéron leaving France in 1939 to escape the Nazis.
