An exceptional pair of French Mid-Century Modern wall sconces by Arlus (Atelier de Recherches Lumineuses), circa 1950s. Known for their refined craftsmanship and innovative post-war designs, Arlus was a leading name in French lighting during the mid-20th century, blending modernist aesthetics with timeless elegance. Each sconce features a sleek composition of brass, black lacquered metal, and distinctive elliptical double-layered glass shades. The inner shade is opaline white, while the outer is clear glass, subtly enhanced with slightly raised vertical striping—a rare detail that beautifully diffuses light and adds a touch of texture.
