About the Item
A great pair of vintage wall sconces from the early 30s. What makes these antique sconces so unique is the design elementation. Although they have some art deco influence, they were designed with a nod towards Arts & Crafts and Spanish Revival. All 3 styles were popular in different parts of the USA during that difficult time in our past. By appealing to a broader customer base during the Great Depression shows some genuine smarts by the manufacturer, Virden of Milwaukee. This foresight in design and ability to adapt with the times is one reason Virden is one of the few lighting manufacturers from that era to continue operations into the 1990's.
Refinished to match their original color scheme.
Rewired to UL standards including code required ground wire.
