About the Item

Dal Wall Lamp by Idaaf Architects Dimensions: Ø 30 x H 35 cm. Materials: Glazed clay. The wall lamp ‘Dal’ was created under the influence of Svan mythology. The eye symbolizes the most necessary skill for the hunter, while the glazed clay branch represents the forest and the horns of the animals protected by the hunting goddess Dal. Its use in the bedroom is based on the idea: "I wake up, I open my eyes, I go to sleep, I close my eyes." All our lamps can be wired according to each country. If sold to the USA it will be wired for the USA for instance. Please contact us. Born and based in Tbilisi, Nana Zaalishvili completed her Master’s degree in civil architecture at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. In 2016 she founded studio Idaaf Architects. Since its foundation, the studio has worked on multidisciplinary projects of different types and scale in Georgia and elsewhere. Alongside work on architectural and interior design projects, the sculptural furniture is an important part of the work of the studio. Nana's approach is shaped by Tbilisi's eclectic architecture and its hectic urban scene, as well as the stunning natural beauty of the Georgian vernacular architecture. Nana is author of the book: Soviet Bus Stops in Georgia and many architectural/design essays published in various magazines. Nana leads several researches about material studies and Georgian architecture. Information about her completed and ongoing projects can be found in her website. Idaaf Architects was established in Tbilisi in 2016 and is led by the architect Nana Zaalishvili. Studio works on multidisciplinary principles combining Architecture, Interior Design and Furniture, as well as Research and Material Studies. Each project is the results from the deep cultural, geographical and site research with the aim of creating timeless yet modern architecture and design in Georgia and abroad.
