About the Item
In 2024, Charlotte Besson-Oberlin, a master in the art of playing with volumes, created the Applique Double, a raw, refined lighting design in lava stone. Composed of two interlocking, overlapping shapes,
like leaves or a pair of wings, this wall light is a poetic expression of the material that catches and reflects light according to the different effects produced on its surface. The lava used for the wall lamp was kilnfired
at extreme temperatures until it was molten again. As a result, each piece is unique, as the lava is reworked in this way to produce a different metamorphosis each time. This wall light can be used both
indoors and outdoors.
This IP44-rated luminaire is dimmable and DALI and PHANTOM compatible.
About the designer
Charlotte Besson-Oberlin’s experience and taste for sober, pure design were honed at the Christian Liaigre design office, where she spent 11 years working all over the world, first as an interior designer, then as head of furniture design. From these years, she retains a rigorous approach to execution, a taste for noble materials, a concern for perfect finishes and a constant search for the best design for each customer.
Charlotte Besson-Oberlin created dix9mai to add her own personality to this invaluable background, and to offer a design with clean lines and unexpected touches that never freeze the decor.
