About the Item
Heart-shaped wall sconce made of white opaline Murano glass with horizontal moldings. It is assumed, because of the beautiful quality, to be traceable to an important production, perhaps by Venini. Still glued to the object is the stamp stating "glass made by Murano masters, made in Italy." You can tell from the irregularities that it is not molded glass, but rather hand-molded and hand-blown.
The heart shape has a symbolic value that can be traced back to love and happiness.
It should be remembered that Venice (and the island of Murano specifically) is world-famous as a landmark for the production and manufacture of glass art objects.
