Huge hand carved Giltwood framed Mirror wall sconce designed by John Stefanidis
About the Item
This is a very special and unique extra large wall sconce designed by the world renowned Interior Designer John Stefanidis and manufactured by Bella Figura Lighting in the UK, which was established by Ned Cavendish, the nephew of the late Duke & Duchess of Devonshire, who I had the pleasure of working with for over 12 years
This wall sconce was hand made specially for John Stefanidis for several projects he designed in Mustique, London and Greece - they are not available on the open market so this is a rare piece indeed
Made of hand carved Oil Gilded Hardwood the frame is spilt into 3 individually glazed sections with hand cut and bevelled Mirror Glass. The frame is 2.5cm thick and 3cm deep, each scroll is 5cm Diameter and the hand-carved Sun at the top is 9.5cm Diameter. The Oil Gilding show signs wear consistent with its age but this does not detract from the piece, if anything it adds an elegant patina to the piece
