About

Almost any room can benefit from a dash of south-of-France 1960s chic. This unusual and highly groovy Juliette Derel ceramic lamp contains six colored-resin windows - oval blocks encased in the ceramic - which allow beautifully diffused colored light to escape. It can be hung on a wall, or rested upon its legs as a table lamp, and is a potent instrument for single-handedly transforming the Ambience of a space. Juliette Derel (1918-2007) began working in Vallauris, France with Jean Rivier (her husband during the 1950s), Jacques Innocenti, and Pablo Picasso. Her ceramics, assemblages of ceramic and metal, and collages and quilts are all highly sought-after artifacts of a glamorous time and place.
