Large 2nd Empire Bronze 4-Light Melusina Sconces, Pair
About the Item
Second Empire Bronze sconces depicting The Melusina of European Folklore. The Mermaid with Angel Wings. A female spirit of fresh water. Detailed castings of the four winds, scaled tail, a tassel necklace, and swooping leaves. Richly patinated, highly unusual, large-scale wall sconces in very good antique condition. Circa 1870.
Each sconce weighs a little more than 25lbs. Four lights each, newly wired with E12 sockets.
