Large Pair of French 1930s Iron Sconces
About the Item
Unusual and elegant pair of heavy iron wall lights, fashioned out of solid wrought iron, with conical metal tops. The curved iron uprights which form the body of the lights end in either large scrolls or corkscrew finials at the top. The side and center uprights have a series of scrolls along their length, gradually increasing in size. Decorative scrolled frieze along the top of the lights, in front of the sockets. Painted in original glossy dark green paint.
For use indoors or out.

Véronese was established in 1931 by Marcel Barbier. The firm was unique in having a design office in Paris and a glasswork on Murano. They developed a product line of clear translucent glass that was promoted through extensive advertising, and sold from striking modern showrooms in Paris and Nice.
