This monumental Serge Roche-style palmette column wall-mounted lamp is an extraordinary statement piece, blending Hollywood Regency opulence with French modernist design influences of Serge Roche. Made in the USA in the 1970s, this sculptural lamp is executed in realistically cast and lacquered wood and fiberglass, enhanced by brass mounts for a touch of subtle luxury.
Larger than most examples, towering at 80 inches high, 36 inches wide, and 20 inches deep, the 7-inch-wide palmette columnar base features a stylized palm frond relief, reminiscent of neoclassical designs, while the crowned palmette top fans outward in an impressive, sculptural display.
Designed for wall mounting, this lamp is both a functional light source and sculpture. It accommodates two standard bulbs at the top, casting a warm, ambient glow, and operates via a convenient inline on/off switch on the plug-in electrical cord.
