Monumental Teak Wall Lights Lamp by Rupprecht Skrip Coconut Counterweights 1950s

About the Item

Monumental midcentury and super rare solid teak double wall light by Rupprecht Skrip, Germany circa 1950s to 1960s. Twice signed with Skrip Germany on top and Skrip Leuchte on reverse the very refined and adjustable midcentury wall light sculpture which has a solid teak base, two ball-joints with two teak rods of different length, original old handmade straw fabric lamp shades, original cords and sanded coconut counterweights which allow multiple ways of light positioning. The gorgeous wall lamp which can be switched individually takes two E27 standard screw bulbs to illuminate. Wiring is very good so all is fine working and ready to use. It stays in very good original vintage condition with minor and typical characteristic wear consistent with age and use, due to its nature and age the old organic lamp shades have partly flat dents, minor cracks in the straw, inside some spots and cracks in the plastic layer see pictures, they are stable and look age appropriate beautifully. Measurements : The teak base is 55 cm / 21.65 inches tall, 5.5 cm / 2.17 inches wide and 2.5 cm / 0.98 inches deep. Left teak rod is 110 cm / 43.31 inches, the right one 160 cm / 62.99 inches long, so with a span of almost 240 cm / 94.49 inches. The lamp shades have a width of 16 cm / 6.30 inches and are 27 cm / 10.63 inches tall. Probably a unique piece or from a very small series. This gorgeous highlight is an upgrade and a perfect addition to any Scandinavian Modern or Mid-Century Modern design interior.
